Joseph Richard Frey, age 77 of Newburg, ND, passed away on Monday, April 28, 2025 at his home in Newburg.

Joseph Frey, a son of James and Francis (Spradlin) Frey, was born on April 26, 1948 in Rockfalls, IL.  He was raised in Rockfalls and graduated from school there.  On June 21, 1966, he entered the US Airforce.  He served until receiving his Honorable Discharge on December 20, 1969.  He was then married to Barbara Morrissey.  They lived in South Carolina, where he worked on a dairy farm.  They then moved to Chicago and then Clinton, IA where he worked in a corn plant.  He then began his career as an Iron worker, working in Boulder, CO, Boise, ID, Greenville, ME, Rockport, PA and Chilton, WI.  After retirement, he moved to Newburg, ND.

Joseph was a lifetime member of the VFW.  He enjoyed watching the news and sports, especially the Bears and the Cubs.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara of Newburg; sons, Travis (Denise) Frey of New Holstein, WI, Joseph (Rebecca) Frey of Maxbass, ND and Leslie (Shelly) of Groves, TX; brothers, Jim, Bill and David Frey and sister, Hope McNitt.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by on brother, Jim Frey and sister, Sue Bondous.
