Jordan Poitra, age 33 of Dunseith, died Monday, at Grand Forks.  His funeral will be held on Monday at 10:00 am at the Eagleheart Cultural Center in Dunseith.  A wake service will be on Sunday beginning at 3:00 pm at the center.  Burial will be at St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery.

Jordan Poitra, a son of Fred Beno and Cheryl (Norquay) Poitra, was born on February 22, 1986 at Minot.  Her grew up in Dunseith and attended the Dunseith Day School.  He worked for IBI Construction in Fargo with his father.  On July 28, 2012, he married Racheal Demery in Rolla.  He later worked for Tunheim Construction in Fargo.

MY HUSBAND loved being a dad. Enjoyed the company of his friends and family. Especially, loved riding motorcycles and fourwheelers. He was an outdoors type of person. He could fix anything with a motor. He was dedicated father in life. He never left things unfinished. Thaught his boys how to take care of their belongings. He knew the value of a dollar. Tried not.spending.. He was close with his daughter racheal jr.. She was his princess that did no wrong. His heart as he called her. Jordan and his wife, loved each other, although they didn't always display their love. The biggest lesson in life Jordan taught his wife is to be brave, and face your demons. And write your story in life.

He is survived by his wife, Racheal; children, Kyhanna Beston, Racheal Poitra Jr, ZaRaya Poitra, Jordan Poitra Jr, Zerriah Poitra and Stiles Poitra; mother, Cheryl Poitra; sisters, Clarissa "Pumpkin" Poitra and Colleen Peltier; brothers, Cedric Poitra, Chad Poitra and Michael Poitra and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Beno Poitra.
