Jonathan "Johnny" Peltier, age 39, of Dunseith, ND, passed away on Saturday, July 3, 2021, in Devils Lake, ND.

Jonathan was born on June 12, 1982, in Rolette, ND to Barbara Peltier of Minot, and James Lunday of Dunseith. Johnny was raised in Dunseith, ND by his mother and grandma Cecelia. He had three children, Janisha Morin, Alexander Morin, and Heidi Morin, all of Minot, ND. He worked as a roofer and construction worker. He enjoyed playing basketball, cards, video games, going to the casino, and spending time with family. Johnny had the biggest heart and the smile to match. He had a special brother bond with many, but most of all, with life-long friend Tyrell DeCoteau. He had a deep infatuation for wolves and campfires and enjoyed sitting around the firepit while listening to music. He was always willing to help wherever help was needed, even if it was just to be a friend or talk. He always knew what to say to make people laugh or smile. He was called the "selfie king," by his cousin Stacy. He spent most of his time in Minot or back home visiting family and friends. He enjoyed traveling but his favorite trip was when he went to Washington state just to smell the pine trees. Johnny will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his family and friends.

Jonathan is survived by his Mother Barbara Peltier of Minot, Father James (Annette) Lunday of Dunseith, his children Janisha, Alex, and Heidi, Grandparents John and Gloria Lunday of Dunseith, Godparents Brenda and Carl Jerome of Belcourt, Sister Jessica Peltier of Minot, Sisters Alisha Lunday, Kaia Lunday, and Ashley Lunday, all of Dunseith, Brothers Jeremy (Kara) Laducer, Riel (Jessica) Gagnon, Derrick Grant, and James Lunday, all of Dunseith, Uncles Jack and Henry Peltier Jr., both of Longview, WA, Uncle Wesley Peltier of Minot, Uncles Ed Lunday of Flandreau, SD, Peter Lunday of Parshall, Lyle Lunday, Clark Lunday, Shonn Lunday, and Brent Lunday, all of Dunseith, Aunties Janice Morin, of Belcourt, Donna Lunday-St. Claire and Alyssa Lunday, both of Dunseith, Niece Hope Peltier, Nephew Ashton Peltier, Great Nephew Dante Peltier, close cousins David (Jennifer) Morin of Belcourt, Daniel Morin of Dunseith, Denise Morin of Minot, Stacy (Nathan) Parisien of St. John, Chelsey (Justin) Henrickson of San Antonio, TX, Teri Poitra of Belcourt, Wesley Peltier Jr. of Minot, Joelle (Joshua) Dawson of Minot, and so many other cousins and friends.

Jonathan was preceded in death by his baby brother Wayne Peltier, brother Tyler "Spuddy" Lunday, Grandmother Cecelia Peltier, Grandfather Henry Peltier, Great-Grandparents Joe, and Eliza (Iron Bear) Henry, and Uncle Sam Lunday.
