ohn Richard Henry Jr, age 74 of Dunseith, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2026 at his home near Dunseith. Service will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2026 with a meal starting at 10:00 am at the Eagle Heart Cultural Center in Dunseith.Burial will be at the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. All Freinds and family are welcome to attend.

John Richard Henry Jr, a son of John and Bernice (LeCompte) Henry, was born on December 16, 1951 in Belcourt.He grew up in Dunseith and attended Dunseith Day School before graduating from Dunseith High School.John lived in several places including Portland, OR, Wolf Point, MT and Billings, MT before returning to Dunseith in 1994.

Family meant everything to John.He loved visiting, joking and teasing. He enjoyed sunrises, sunsets and just being in nature.He also loved animals, especially dogs. A special heartfelt thank you from Uncle Jr and kids to a very great Niece Roxanne Henry where he spent the remaining months of his life comfortably enjoying the sunsets and sunrises she is loved like a daughter.

He is survived by his children, Felicia, (Brady) Parisien of Dunseith, Eric Henry of Dunseith, Joshua (Jen) Henry of Dunseith, Tim (Shaylor) DeCoteau of Belcourt and Ashley (Scott) Henry of Minot; 21 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; siblings, Ted (MaryAnn) Henry of Dunseith, Patrick “Jay” (Patty) Henry of Belcourt, Mark Henry of Dunseith, Brenda Henry of Billings, MT and Doraldinde Henry of Billings, MT and numerous nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his parents John and Bernice Henry; children, Francine Henry, Richard Henry Sr and Gary (Frank) Henry; granddaughter, Angel Davis; siblings, Loretta Vivier, Betty Summers, Joyce Camrud, Melvin Henry, Brian Henry and Jimmy Henry.
