John (Gator) Craig, age 72 of Bottineau passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, June 18, 2022.  Burial arrangements are pending.

John was born in Willmar, MN to Mary and Paul Craig on October 25, 1949.  He moved to Breckenridge in 1950 and grew up there.

John worked mostly at welding but over the years had done seismographing  through out the western mountainous areas of the US and even going to South America. John was an avid motorcyclist.  He was President of a local club in Minot for several years.  He was one not to miss going to Sturgis, SD every year.  After retiring John still continued working on and rebuilding motorcycles. He also enjoyed fishing and loved to use his many different sewing machines.

He married the love of his life, LaRae Desilets, August of 2002. They made their home in Bottineau.  She passed away in January 2007.

John is survived by five sisters., Beverly Schillinger, Breckenridge, MN, Donna Crisalle, Pensacola, FL, Susie Whitney, Wahpeton, ND, Alice Pausig, Kenmare, ND and Mary Pratt, Breckenridge,MN, One biological son, Nate Marts, Minneapolis, MN and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, LaRae, parents, Paul and Mary Craig and one brother, James Craig.
