Jerome E. Olson passed away October 10, 2023 at the North Dakota Veterans Home, Lisbon, ND.

He was born on August 1, 1952 to Oliver and Marian (Sannes) Olson. He grew up and attended school in Souris, ND and then attended North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton. In 1973, he entered the U.S. Army and served his country until 1976. After his discharge, Jerry worked as a farm hand in several different places in North Dakota. In April 2006, Jerry became a resident at the North Dakota Veterans Home in Lisbon where he met many new friends and received excellent care from the staff while making his home there for the last 17 years.

His hobbies included hunting and fishing. Jerry loved listening to 60's & 70's music (while drinking his Dr. Pepper), playing solitaire and he loved all kinds of dogs, especially his Irish Setter, Roxie.

He is survived by his children, Jill (Stef) Pritchard, Savage, MN and Todd (Bambi Thompson) Olson, Bottineau, ND; two grandchildren, Tate & Avery Pritchard, his brother, Leonard (Sissy) Olson, Las Vegas, NV; four sisters, Margaret (Bernie) Fiedler, Dousman, WI, Karen (Doug) Nelson, Oakes, ND, Barbara (Richard) Huber, Clarkdale, AZ and Rebecca (Greg Kroeplin) Huber, Minot, ND; and his nephews, nieces, great nieces and great nephews who loved him very much. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Oliver & Marian and a niece, Hailey Huber.

His funeral will be Monday, October 16, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at Nero Funeral Home, Bottineau, ND followed by burial with military honors at Lesje Lutheran Church Cemetery near Souris, ND.
