Obituary

Jerome (Jerry) Leslie Indvik was born March 15. 1939 to Lars and Mabel (Backman) Indvik. Jerry passed away peacefully at Trinity Hospital in Minot on February 12, 2020 surrounded by family.

Jerry was baptized and confirmed at Turtle Mountain Church. He attended country school through 8th grade. While attending high school in Bottineau he stayed with his grandparents Godfrey & Anna Backman until graduating with the class of 1957. Jerry then began farming in northern Dalen Township with his uncle Oscar Indvik. Over the years Jerry built a cattle business while expanding the original farming operation. He also raised fox and mink. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping and reading. He would listen to classical music while driving the tractor. Some have commented that he had a memorable laugh and enjoyed storytelling and visiting.

He married Bernice Kittleson in 1963. They had three sons Mark, Michael and Scott.

Preceded in death by grandparents, parents, sister Janet Indvik and brother Darryl Indvik.

Jerry is survived by his wife Bernice; sons, Mark (Sherri), Michael and Scott (Susan); grandsons, Levi Indvik and Holden Indvik; step granddaughters, Ashley (Robert Pedie), Miranda (Tyson Brant); Siblings Lorna Meade of Waterford Michigan, Marjetta (Walter Springstead) of Sarasota Florida, Larry Indvik of Centennial Colorado, Robert (Carol) of Bottineau, ND, Toni (Mike Petrikenas) of Bottineau, ND, Curtis & Dale Indvik of Sterling, Alaska. Eleven nieces and nephews and six great grandchildren.

A memorial service held February 21, 2020 at 10:00 am at the Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau. Jerry was cremated and his ashes will be interred at a later
