Obituary

Jeff, son of Harvey and Kay Thorsgaard, was born on April 13, 1967.  He was raised in Bottineau on the family farm, and graduated from Bottineau High School.  He went on to attend college in Bottineau and Thief River Falls, MN to study Aviation Mechanics.  Jeff spent a few years living in the Buffalo, New York area before moving back to Bottineau, where he remained until his passing.

Jeff worked for Pepsi in Bottineau for many years, and later worked for St. Andrew's Hospital.  At home, he was constantly learning and working on new endeavors. Over the years, he had set up a casting furnace, built his own CNC routing machine, and made many signs, vinyl decals, sandblastings and mirror etchings among various other projects which collectively comprised his home business, "Thors Foundry".  He also enjoyed making his own chokecherry wine, cooking, gardening, and he had plans to build a self-irrigated "hoop house" greenhouse. Jeff especially loved spending his time helping others with their own projects, whether it was home repairs, fixing up cars, or working on toys and gadgets. He volunteered his time and expertise to the Bottineau Science Olympiad, where he helped with many of the building projects.  One of his favorite activities was spending time around the bonfire with friends and family. Jeff was a loving father & fiance, caring brother, wonderful uncle, and great friend to many, he will be greatly missed.

Jeff is survived by his fiancee, Brenda Blada; his son and daughter-in-law Teddy and Michelle Thorsgaard and her son Hayden Dahl; his daughter and son-in-law Valerie Thorsgaard and Daniel Huus; his sisters, Lenore Motl, Robin Forschen, and Joni Wetherbee; his nephews Levi, Cody, and Jesse Motl and Matt Forschen; his uncles Bert Garwood and Allan Thorsgaard, and many cousins.

After a tough fight battling heart issues, Jeff's heart remained golden and was born into eternity on April 9th, 2020 at the age of 52.

He is preceded in death by his parents and by Brenda's daughters Heather and Courtney Davis.
