Obituary

Jeff LaRocque, age 45 of Dunseith, died Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at Aberdeen SD.  His funeral will be held on Thursday at 10:00 am at the Eagle Heart Cultural Center in Dunseith.  Wake will be Wednesday beginning at 6:00 pm.

Jeffery Alex LaRocque was born on April 18, 1974, in Rolette, ND to Steven and Barbara (Counts) LaRocque. He was raised in Dunseith, ND where he attended School at Dunseith Day School, Dunseith Public School, and Belcourt, High School. Jeff worked around the state of North Dakota at various jobs. Jeff was united in marriage to Melanie Cree on January 31, 2008 in Dunseith, ND. They were married for 11 years and raised five children together: David and Steven, Melody, Larry (Cheeseball) and Paul and raised their first grand-daughter Mileena.

He is survived by his wife Melanie LaRocque, his sons: David and Steven Cree, Larry (Laikyn) Beston, and Paul Cree, Jr., his daughters Melodie (Michael) Nelson,  Shakara LaRocque, and raised their first grand-daughters Mileena Cree and Layla & Julius Poitra and Nova Mae Beston, His father Stephen "Cheech" LaRocque, his sisters Roxanne (Chris) Lindteigen, Stephanie (Anthony Keplin) LaRocque, Valerie (Chad Parisien) and brothers, Conway (Amber) LaRocque, Kyle Azure, his godchildren, Taylor Lindteigen, Tucker Belgarde, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Jeff loved life, he enjoyed playing music in various bands over the years and especially enjoyed playing with the members in his last band "100 Proof", one of his greatest pleasures was riding his Harley with his wife, he loved fishing, and spending quality time with his family and friends. He loved having Melanie by his side through everything he did.

Jeff had an unexpected death due to health complications. He got called home on May 21, 2019. He will be missed by his wife, family and the many friends.

Melanie and family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to all for supporting them during this difficult time.

Jeffery was preceded in death by his mother Barbara, his brothers Michael and Brian, grandson Langston, Maternal and Paternal Grandparents, and Aunts and Uncles.

Arrangements were with Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau.
