Obituary

Jean Rubbert, a daughter of Leslie and Georgina (Veale) Phinney, was born on April 12, 1929 at Antler, SK. At a young age, she moved with her family to Brandon, MB. During the war, she worked as a telegram girl. She later moved to Weyburn, SK where she worked as an egg candler. She also worked at the Safeway and the Singer Sewing Store. On April 2, 1950, she married Myron Rubbert at St. John's Lutheran Church of rural Upham. They purchased land in 1954 and began farming. In 1968, they took over the Rubbert family farm. Myron passed away on October 23, 2008.

Jean was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church where she was active in the LWML. She was also a member of the Newburg Senior Citizens. Jean enjoyed bowling, sewing, cooking and baking.

Jean passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2019 at a Mohall nursing home.

She is survived by daughters; Corinne (Lee) Stroklund of Kenmare, Dawna (Charles) Robinson of Upham, Gail (Philip) Zimmer of Kenmare, and Holly Rubbert of Cando; sons, Lamont (Kathy) Rubbert of Garrison, Lorin (Luanne) Rubbert of Bottineau and Kim (Jackie) Rubbert of Carlyle, SK, Randy (Mary) Rubbert of Reynolds, and Jan (Laurie) Rubbert of Upham; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; brother, Clinton Phinney of Rivers, MB and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Jean was preceded in death by 4 brothers, 1 sister, 2 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild.
