Funeral services for Jean Dena Bernstein, age 82 of Bottineau, were held on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at 10:00 am at the Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau. The speakers at the service was Glenn Gasser and BethArlene Pierce. Music was provided by Roger and Sherry Myers. Casket bearers were Justin Bernstein, Jacob Bernstein, Jackson Bernstein, Ole Shipp, David Zorn, Rodd Zorn, Jeff Bernstein and Sam Bernstein. Burial was at the Mountain View Cemetery at Souris.
Jean Bernstein, a daughter of Arthur and Florence (Heebink) Grover, was born on March 17, 1936 at Bottineau. She grew near Souris where she attended Peabody School and later graduated from Souris High School. She then went to the School of Forestry in Bottineau where she completed the secretarial course. She then went on to work in the office at St. Andrew's Hospital in Bottineau. On May 9, 1958, she married Leverne Bernstein in Bottineau. They made their home on a farm northwest of Bottineau where they had a grain farm and raised cattle.
Jean passed away on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at a Bottineau hospital.
She is survived by her husband, Leverne of Bottineau; son, Steven (Penny) Bernstein of Bottineau; grandsons, Justin (Kaleena) Bernstein, Jacob Bernstein and Jackson Bernstein; great grandchildren, Ashtyn and Blayke; brother, Allen (Patty) Grover of Landa; sisters, Faye Thompson of Bloomington, MN, Linda (Dennis) Zorn of Jamestown and Mary (Gregg) Boutilier of Granville, ND and several nieces and nephews.
