Jamie Leigh Norquay, age 41, of Grand Forks, ND passed away on November 24, 2022 at Altru Hospital. She was surrounded by her children, sisters, niece and uncles.  Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at 10:00 am at the St. Michael's Catholic Church in Dunseith. Her wake will be Monday starting at 4:00 pm with a prayer service at 7:00 pm at the Eagle Heart Community Center in Dunseith.

Jamie Norquay was born September 20, 1981 at Quentin N. Burdick Memorial Hospital in Belcourt, ND to Shirley Ann Norquay. She lived in Dunseith, ND until 1989. In 1989 she moved to Grand Forks where she spent most of her life.

Jamie was a caregiver like her mother. She was a CNA and work for Development Homes in Grand Forks, ND and Heart of America Nursing Home in rugby, ND. She worked until she became a stay at home mother raising her two younger children and helping care for her nieces and nephews.

Jamie became a mother in 1999 when her son, Tristin Moran, was born. In 2008 she met her fiancé, Bill Parsons while working in Rugby North Dakota. Bill and Jamie quickly became a family after adopting their two younger children, Elliyonna Parsons and Harley Parsons.  They spent most of their lives together in Grand Forks  working and raising their children . Jamie and Bill were together until Bill passed away in 2021. She spent the last year of her life caring for her children and her mother.

Jamie enjoyed spending time with her children, fiancé, and her mother. She also enjoyed sewing, making picture collages making slime with her daughter(Elliyonna), watching her son(Tristin) wrestle, watching her son (Harley)play football. She also enjoyed foot rubs, making funny pictures with Snapchat and watching TV with her family - particularly Cobra Kai.

Jamie is survived by her three children: Tristin Moran(24), Harley Parsons (15),Elliyonna Parsons (12), her sisters:Monica Norquay(Grand Forks)Wanda, LaFlamme (Fargo), Christina Mimay(Grant Mimay) (California), and many nieces and nephews.

Jamie is preceded in death by her fiancé:Bill Parsons, mother:Shirley Norquay, grandmother:Evelyn Belgarde, and many uncles and aunts.

Jamie was a caring and kind mother, fiancé, daughter, sister, aunt, and cousin. She is loved and will be missed dearly. She will always be remembered fondly.
