Obituary

THE REAL MCCOY

James "Jim," "Jimmie" Allen McCoy, 78, of Dunseith, ND, the only child of Robert McCoy and Rozilda "Rosie" Embring, passed away on June 14 , 2022 in Grand Forks, ND. He was surrounded by all his children until he took his last breath. Most know our dad as a great friend with no shortage of storytelling with a sarcastic edge. He enjoyed snowmobiling, hunting, camping, boating, and spending time with his friends and family. He also had a passion for a good argument on any topic and had a reputation for being the life of the party.

Jim is survived by his six children, Lori McCoy, Debbie Powers (McCoy), Daniel McCoy, Kelsey McCoy, James McCoy Jr., Jordan McCoy, and Robert McCoy. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Jim is preceded in death by his dad, Robert McCoy, his mom, Rosie Embring, grandparents, and great grandparents.

Some would say Jim McCoy was a charmer and at times, a lady's man who could flirt with the best of them. He had a laugh that came from the belly and that may be what will be missed the most. He always talked about his kids, and he loved us unconditionally.

Jim "The Real McCoy" enjoyed life on his terms and he will be missed by many. On behalf of his family, thank you to all who knew dad and took time to stop in and visit. It meant the world to him.

One of our dad's requests was not to have a funeral, so we are planning a "Celebration of Life" in Dunseith during the Labor Day weekend. Date, Time, and Place will be posted at the senior center and other businesses in Dunseith.

Donations in dad's name to The American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers would be greatly appreciated.
