James (Jim) Merwin Lehmann, Minot, ND, formerly of Willow City, ND, passed away at a Minot Hospital on January 6, 2022.  His funeral will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 10:00 am at the Immanuel Lutheran Church near Willow City.

Jim was born in Rugby, ND. on July 16, 1932, to Ernest Lehmann and Violet Swearson Lehmann. He was raised west of Willow City, ND and went to country school there. He was confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church about seven miles west of Willow City. His teen years were spent helping his dad with sheep and cattle on the farm. He met Hannah Hoffman at a New Year's Eve dance and they were later married the following year, August 7, 1952. In the late 50's, he had his own red semi, Ford tilt cab, and hauled cattle out of the midwest. He was a grain farmer and also raised milking cows and hereford cattle. Jim was on various boards throughout the years, such as the Willow City School board and the Willow Creek Township Water Board. Jim was also an elder at Willow Creek Immanuel. He, along with other locals, were involved in the starting of the Willow City Farm Supply.

Jim is survived by his wife Hannah, sons Mark and Barry, Willow City, ND, Carter (Trudy) Bottineau, ND, daughter Jodie Overton (Jason) Minot, ND. Grandchildren: Mackenzie Schmaltz (Austin) Bismarck, ND, Zachary Lehmann, Grand Forks, ND, Alex
Lehmann, Fargo, ND, Sam Overton, Minot, ND, and Noelle Overton, Minot, ND.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Norman.

Arrangements were with Nero Funeral Home at Bottineau.  Friends may sign the online register book at the www.nerofuneralhome.net .

The family requests that memorials be given to the Orphan Grain Train or the Our Savior's Lutheran Braille Center.
