Jade Mogard, age 69 of Lake Metigoshe, North Dakota and formerly of Norwich, picked his last tune on Monday, October 3, 2022 at his home. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at 1:00 pm at the Ackworth Cemetery northeast of Bottineau. Visitation will be on Monday from 1:00-7:00 pm and again on Tuesday from 11:00 am-12:30 pm at the Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau. Jade's family will be at the funeral home on Monday from 5:00-7:00 pm and on Tuesday from 11:00 am-12:30 pm to greet the public. The procession to the cemetery will leave the funeral home on Tuesday at 12:30 pm. Guests may bring a lawn chair and dress casual/weather appropriate.
Jade Mogard, a son of Emerald and Ruby (Olson) Mogard, was born on June 2, 1953 in Minot. He attended grade school in Norwich and graduated from Granville High School. On January 10, 1976, he married Cynthia Hasselstrom. They made their home in Norwich where they raised their family. At age 57, Jade retired from Fargo Glass & Paint Co. in Minot where he worked as a glazier. In November of 2014, they moved to the Turtle Mountains where they have resided since.
Jade could play any instrument but thought of himself as a guitar picker. From a young age he played lead guitar in bands and cherished the many relationships made while playing with talented musicians around the area. Jade was a member of the Frozen Fingers Music Association of Minot, and was proud to have performed at the Norsk Hostfest.
Jade will be missed by his wife, Cindy of Lake Metigoshe; daughter, Jessica Pepper (Greg) Jackson of Franklin, OH; son, Garth Cole Mogard (Ashley) of Norwich, ND; grandchildren, Piper Jade Michelle Jackson and Emerald Dawn Jackson; sisters, Juell (Roger) Brabandt of Minot and Garnet (Doug) Lukenbach of Harvey; brother, Beryl (Carla) Mogard of Bismarck; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Arrangements with Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau. Friends may sign the online register book at www.nerofuneralhome.net .
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be given to the Ackworth Cemetery.
