Jackie LaRocque, age 73 of Dunseith passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2026 at a Belcourt hospital. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 29, 2026 at 10:00 am at the St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Dunseith. Her wake will be on Thursday starting at 4:00 pm at the church. Burial will be at the St. Louis Catholic Cemetery.

Ms. Jacqueline (Jackie) Ann LaRocque, Daughter of the late Jerome and Alice (Short) LaRocque was born December 11, 1952 in Belcourt, North Dakota.

She attended Dunseith School up until the 8th grade and later got her GED. Jackie was a dedicated church member of the St. Michaels Catholic Church of Dunseith where she attended church every Sunday.

She was united in holy matrimony to Delbert (Pepper) LaRocque in June of 1970, later divorced, but blessed with 3 children, Delray, Kimberly, and Jolene.

Ms. LaRocque was employed at San Haven and Dunseith Public School. Jackie retired in 2013 due to cancer. As a result of her generous spirit and pleasant personality, she was loved by many. Her beautiful life consisted of playing bingo every chance she had, rummaging with her daughters and grand daughters, and attending birthday parties, holidays, and gatherings. Jackie loved to garden, she absolutely adored her flower beds. She loved baking, cooking, and canning goods. Jackie was so fun spirited she loved to dress up with her sisters and take pictures. She used to always love going on vacations, taking a cruise to the Bahamas and flying to Hawaii, Alaska, Oregon, Disneyland and driving to Montana. Her life was as beautiful as the flowers she loved so well, and her influence will forever remain in the lives that knew her. She quietly departed on Sunday, May 24th, 2026 at Quentin Burdick Memorial Hospital. She was preceded in death by her Father and Mother Jerome and Alice LaRocque, Brother Sylvester LaRocque, Sister-in-law Shirley LaRocque, Brother Ronnie LaRocque, Sister Linda Poitra, Sister Sherry LaRocque, Brother Curtis LaRocque, Sister-in-law Debbie LaRocque, Brother-in-law Steve Myers, Brother-in-law Butch Poitra, God-Child Twila Myers and many more nieces and nephews.

Jackie is survived by her children, Delray LaRocque, Kimberly (Keith Charbonneau), Jolene LaRocque. Siblings Bernice Poitra, Debbie (Earl Lavallie), Jeanette LaRocque, Richard LaRocque, Joy Myers, Annette (Jim Lunday), Brian (April LaRocque). Grandchildren Britteny LaRocque, Erik LaRocque, Markell LaRocque, Christian Breland, Anitarose LaRocque, Alyce and Tucker Gladue, Rainey, Ethan, Wia, Zaylynn, Patrick, Annabella, and Letty LaRocque. Great Grandchildren, Layla, Wyatt, Jude, Sutton, Tarabella, Tayce, Riley and Remy.
