Helene Grann, age 94 of Landa, died Saturday, July 27, 2019 at a Bottineau hospital.  Her funeral will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2019 at 10:00 am at the Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau.  Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Zion Lutheran Cemetery near Landa.

Helene Grann, a daughter of Axel and Olga (Sorenson) Houmann, was born on October 18, 1924 at Westhope.  She grew up on the family farm near Westhope.  She attended country school and later graduated from Westhope High School at the age 16.  On March 8, 1949, she married Irving Grann at Westhope.  They made their home on a farm north of Landa.  Irving passed away January 16, 1990.

Helene was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Landa where she taught Sunday School and served as treasurer.  She later attended Trinity Lutheran Church in Westhope.  She was a member of the Westhope Senior Citizens where she served as treasurer.  She enjoyed sewing, knitting, quilting, journaling, and bingo.

She is survived by her son, Jerry Grann of Landa; daughter, Judy (Barry) Tofteland of Minot; grandsons, Jeremy (Cassie) Tofteland and Jonathan (Katie) Tofteland; great-grandchildren, Brielle and Madalyn Tofteland and Augustus Tofteland; sister-in-law, Carrie Houmann and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by great-grandchildren, Brooklyn and Braylon Tofteland and Joanna and Tillie Tofteland; sister, Alice Cook and brothers, Clarence, Albert and Alvin.
