Funeral services for Helen Brandt, age 93 of Mandan formerly of Bottineau,  were held on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at 10:00 am at the Nero Funeral Home.  Officiating at the service was Pastor Joshua Reimche.  Avonne Gessner was the organist and  the congregation sang selected hymns.  Casket bearers were all of Helen's family and friends in attendance.  Burial was at the Oak Creek Cemetery in Bottineau.

Helen Brandt, a daughter of John and Bernthine (Olson) Absalonson, was born on April 10, 1926 at Overly, ND.  In October of 1949, she married Marvin Brandt.  Marvin passed away on December 22, 1964.  She made her home in Bottineau.  She worked at Pritchard's Shoe Store and the Ace Hardware Store until she retired when she was in her 70's.  In 2015, she moved to Mandan to be closer to her daughter, Renae.

Helen loved animals, crocheting, knitting, sewing, hardanger embroidery and family gatherings.

Helen passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at a Bismarck nursing home.  This was also Helen's mother's birthday.

She is survived her daughter, Renae Jansen of Mandan and many nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Ruda Gilje, Judy Lynnes and Elida Solberg.
