Helen Beckman, age 100 of Bottineau, died Saturday, February 22, 2020 at a Bottineau hospital.  Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, February, 26, 2020 at 2:00 pm at the Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Bottineau.  Visitation will be Tuesday from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm at the Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau.

Helen Beckman, a daughter of John and Clara ( Schultz) Richwalski was born on September 12, 1919 at Gardena.  She was reared there and attended a country school near Gardena.  On November 24, 1940 she married Hilferd Beckman at Gardena.  They made their home on the Beckman Family Farm south of Bottineau.  They moved into Bottineau in 1985.  Hilferd passed away on May 6, 1996.  Helen lived in her own home until she moved into St. Andrew's Healthcare Center on January 2, 2020.

Helen was a member Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Bottineau.  She enjoyed raising chickens, gardening, flowers, and bird watching.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Gail Erickson of Bismarck and Jeanne (Allen) McGuire of Bottineau; granddaughter, Lori (George) Nickelson of Bottineau; great grandchildren, Brandon (Cydny) Nickelson of Willow City and Samantha (Kevin) Nickelson of Grand Forks; 2 great-great-step grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by, 3 brothers; sons-in-law, Edward Lawrence and Myles Erickson; and granddaughter, Linda Lawrence.
