Mass of the Christian Burial was celebrated for Harold LaRocque, age 60 of Dunseith, on Friday, February 22, 2019 at the St. Anthony's Catholic Church near Dunseith.  The celebrant at the mass was the Reverend Father Michael Hession.  Music was provided by C. Joe Parisien and Richard Turcotte.  Yvonne LaRocque and Jennifer Champagne were the readers.  Elaine LaRocque was the eulogist.  Casket bearers were David LaRocque, Jr.; Brian Larson; Richard Nadeau, Jim Lunday; Tyson LaRocque; Lee Azure; Jason LaRocque; & Ricky Davis.

Harold (nicknamed Twin) LaRocque was born Feb. 3, 1959 to Alexander & Margaret LaRocque. Harold attended school here in Belcourt and then finished his high school 1977 in Flandreau, South Dakota. Twin graduated as Valedictorian and then went on to college in Haskell, Kansas. Harold also participated in sports such as wrestling & Karate. He placed 1 ^st the White Belt Division of Free style fighting in the Denver, Colorado tournament. He was also a great artist.

Harold began working with Raymond Azure & sons on many cement jobs, such as the Ojibwa School, Skydancer Casino, Turtle Mtn. Community College, Bottineau Elevators, Dales, many jobs for various people all over North & South Dakota eventually out on his own. He was a committed hard worker and always on time.

Harold has a son Shawn (Leslie McArthur) LaRocque and 3 grandchildren, Saphrine, Kaycey, & Jamerson. Twin loved the 80's rock & roll and also played some piano.

Harold is survived by his sisters: Elaine LaRocque, Shirley Lenoir & Myrtle LaRocque and by his brothers: Delbert (Yvonne) LaRocque, Steve LaRocque, His twin brother Darrell (Gayle) LaRocque, and David (Judy) LaRocque. He was preceded in death by his parents Alex & Margaret LaRocque, sisters: Baby girl, Darlene, Jeanette, Priscilla & Mona Champagne; brothers: Allan, Keith, Patrick. His sister-in-law Barbara LaRocque.

Arrangements were with Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau.
