Gregory Allen Kroeplin was born on April 23, 1960 in Portland, OR to Barrett Kroeplin and Mary Jo Kroeplin (Hoff). He was raised in the Portland area. Greg attended school in Gardena, ND as a child before making Oregon his home. He received his education in Oregon. While in Oregon, he worked his way from a dispatcher to to Chief of Police in Canby. Greg was blessed with three children from previous marriages, Kevin, Austin, and Brandon. He spent many summers traveling with the children throughout the Pacific Northwest and the Midwest. Being a father was one of his proudest accomplishments. He was president of the PTA and was very active with his children. In 2009, he returned to North Dakota. Greg purchased his grandparents farm and built his dream home, a barndominium; fulfilling a lifelong dream of returning home to Gardena he knew he would be back and never regretted it.
When Greg returned to Gardena, he spent his time helping Mike Nehring on the farm, something he really enjoyed and learned so much from. He also volunteered with the Bottineau Ambulance service and Lake Metigoshe Fire Department.
Greg was most known for being meticulous with his vehicles - detailing was a job he enjoyed. His yard at the farm was always the most manicured and there was not a weed to be seen in his gardens. During the summers, he could be seen at numerous rodeos and concerts. In the winter, he enjoyed spending time ice fishing at Lake Metigoshe. In 2019, Becky Huber came into his life and they met up for a cup of coffee. After many more coffee dates, the relationship goals were met, and Becky became "Darlin." They spent many days together gardening, traveling and enjoying each other's company.
Greg touched many people's lives, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Greg is survived by his children; Kevin of Grand Forks, ND, Austin of Bottineau, ND, and Brandon (Mickenzie) of Tangent, OR; mother, Mary Jo Kelly, Canby, OR; father, Barrett(Kathie) Kroeplin Beaverton, OR; Brothers, Mark (Wendy) of Bottineau ND, Carl (Kylie) of Reunion, CO and Chet (Kelli) of Littleton, CO, Stanley (Jessica) of Troy, MT; Sister, Kathy Kay of Seattle; WA 5 grandchildren and Several Nieces and Nephews
