Gordy Lindquist, age 88 of Bottineau, passed away on November 28, 2025 from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident near Garrison, ND. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at 1:00 pm at the First Lutheran Church in Bottineau. A prayer service will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025 at 7:00 pm at the Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau. Gordon Lindquist, a son of Albert and Anna (Torgerson) Lindquist, was born on November 20, 1937 at Max, ND. He was raised there and graduated from Max High School. He then graduated from Concordia College and later earned his Master's Degree in Music from Colorado State College. He taught 4 years in Max, ND and Westhope, ND for 5 years. He then taught in Santa Cruz, CA. He moved to Bottineau in 1972 where he began his career teaching music at NDSU-Bottineau. In 1976, he married Diane Blada in Bottineau. He retired from the college in 2006 after 34 years of teaching. Gordy was a professional entertainer going by the stage name "Crazy-Fingers". He performed at the Norsk Hostfest. He performed with Myron Floren from the Lawrence Welk show for many years including doing shows in Norway. Over the years, he also preformed with Red Skelton, Bob Hope and George Burns.
Gordy was a faithful member of the First Lutheran Church in Bottineau. Gordy was a member of the Bottineau Men's Choir from 1983 until 2006. He was in a band called County Blend that played all over Canada. Gordy enjoyed performing at the Dicken's Festival in Garrison and at area nursing homes and hospitals. In 2019, Gordy was inducted to the North Dakota Musicians Association Hall of Fame.
He is survived by his sons, Anthony (Stacey) Lindquist of Souris and Ryan (Alexis) Lindquist of Minot; grandchildren, Brandon, Aurelia, Olivia, Dylan and Braden; special friend, Willene Vertz; sister, Clarice Zimmerman of Boyd, WI; sister-in-law, Ellie Lindquist of Minot; father-in-law, Weldon Blada of Newburg and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters and grandson, Brady.
Arrangements were with Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau. Friends may sign the online register book at www.nerofuneralhome.net.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be given.
