Obituary

Gloria (Haggerty) Beste, age 60 of Cokato, MN, passed away on Monday, July 27, 2026 at a St. Cloud, MN hospital after spending a long weekend surrounded by those who loved her. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at 10:00 am at the St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Dunseith. Burial will be at the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery near Dunseith.

Gloria was born to Ronald and Lorraine (Poitra) Haggerty on June 23, 1966. Gloria spent much of her life in the Rugby area, until reuniting with the love of her life in December 19, 2019 at which time she relocated to Minnesota, and they were united in marriage on August 9, 2020.

Every reason was a reason to celebrate for Gloria. She could turn even a routine day into a celebration complete with music, dancing, singing, and darts. Those who frequented 3rd Street Station in Rugby may remember her as “Diddy,” who always had a smile and a hug whether she had seen you yesterday or last year. She loved music, and she loved to sing. Anyone who had the honor of hearing her sing will remember her amazing voice and the spell that she cast during her songs.

Those close to Gloria will remember her love of the holidays with special attention paid to Christmas, where Christmas Eve was an all‑day affair complete with prize bingo for the grandchildren, and Fourth of July where she always made sure there were plenty of fireworks.

Her children and grandchildren were the lights of her life. She had nicknames for each special person in her life, and even if she wasn’t close by she would take the time to send a “Happy Birthday” message each year. She is loved by many, and missed by all.

She is survived by her husband, Paul Beste. Father Ronald Haggerty of Dunseith. Children TJ (Amber) Haggerty of Rolette, Brittany (Brett) Williams of Jamestown, Jessica Belgarde of Fargo, and Lee (Jr.) Griffin of Rugby, Sean (Laura) Beste, Justin (Erin) Beste, Brandon and Aaron Beste. Grandchildren Trinity, Tia, Tayler and Tabitha Haggerty. Everly, Iliana, Hailey, Maci, Sydnee, and Ainslee Beste. Ella and Vivian Beste. Brothers Allen (Jolie) Haggerty, Robert (Linda) Haggerty, and Michael Haggerty. Sisters Tammy (Eric) Rosenberg and Lori (Vernon) St. Claire. And many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her mother Lorraine Haggerty, sisters Michelle and Nicole Haggerty. And she is currently enjoying long‑awaited cuddles from her grandsons Toby and Tetran Haggerty.

Arrangements were with Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau.
