Obituary

Glenn Duane Mortenson, age 84 of Bottineau. peacefully passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at a Minot hospital.

Glenn was born on December 6, 1934 to Alfred and Bertha (Byre) Mortenson.  Glenn was the second of 6 children.  He grew up on the family farm near Souris and graduated from Bottineau High School in 1952.  He joined the Bottineau National Guard and was activated to Fort Lewis, WA in 1961 where he served as a cook for the US Army.  Following his honorable discharge, he went to Minneapolis and worked for Powell Candy Company.  He returned home and married Lois Erickson on December 1, 1963.  Glenn worked on the family farm and he later entered the Bottineau Good Samaritan Center.

Glenn enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins and singing in the choir.  He received excellent care at the Good Samaritan Center.

He is survived by his sister, Elaine Kittelson of El Paso, TX, brother, Beryl (Elaine) of Spokane, WA; sister-in-law, Pat Mortenson of Mesa, AZ and many nieces, nephews and extended family.

In addition to his parents, Glenn was preceded in death by his brothers, Virgil, Dayton and Donevan; brother-in-law, Gary Kittelson and sister-in-law, Shirley Mortenson.

Glenn's final resting place will be at the North Dakota Veteran's Cemetery in Mandan at a later date.

Arrangements were with Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau.  Friends may sign the online register book at www.nerofuneralhome.net .

The family requests that memorials be given to the Bottineau Good Samaritan Center in memory of Glenn.
