Gerard Gunville, age 47 of Parshall, passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at his home in Parshall. Mass of the Christian burial will be held on Friday, November 15, 2024 at 10:00 am at the St. Michael's Catholic Church in Dunseith. Visitation will be start at 8:00 am on Friday at the church. Burial will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery
Gerard's family would like to express their appreciation for the acts of kindness shown to Gerard and family over the years, especially the past several days.
Gerard Gerald Gunville was born on March 28,1977, to Gerald and Jeanette (Nadeau) Gunville. He was raised and educated in Dunseith, N.D. Gerard married Norma Reed on August 20,2022, after dating for 5 years. Gerard was Norma's best friend, partner in crime, navigator, better half and one and only dancing partner. Gerard loved camping, barbequing, sitting out at the lake on hot days, pools, Jacuzzis, golfing, and reminiscing about his childhood and his glory days. Gerard could remember every score of every game he ever played. Gerard was a great cook in the kitchen and loved building things. He was a #1 Vikings Fan.
He adored his grandson Kruz and often talked about how his children Noah, Cheyenne, and Holden were his heart. Gerard's favorite past time was visiting with friends and family at the casino or while playing pool. According to Gerard, he was defiantly a pool shark. You never knew when Gerard was going to show up at your house, as it was always a surprise visit. His family loved to feed him, even if he said he wasn't hungry he'd eat it all, especially Connie's potato salad. Gerard was given the name "Punkin" at a very early age, from his mother. That name Lived on for 47 years.
Gerard worked as security, maintenance, and construction. He was a jack of all trades, and he would be sure to tell you so. He also claimed to be the best-looking man on the face of the earth. Gerard had a big heart when it came to family. He was often the doctor, counselor, and coach, giving advice to his sisters, cousins, and friends. He will be missed by everyone.
Gerard is survived by his wife Norma of Parshall, his children Cheyenne (Bismarck), Holden (Rockhill, South Carolina) , Noah. His sisters, Connie Gunville (Dunseith), Patty (Miles) Pfahl (Dunseith), Father Gerald (Ann) Gunville (Rolla).
He was preceded in death by his mother Jeanette Gunville, brother, William James Gunville, his grandparents John and Helen Gunville.
