Obituary

Gary J. Wysocki, age 84, left this world and began a new journey with the Lord on February 19, 2026.

Gary was born on December 6, 1941, in Minto, North Dakota to Julian and Rowena (Kennedy) Wysocki. He was raised in Minto with strong family values and a deep-rooted faith that would guide him throughout his life. Gary graduated from Minto High School and attended the University of North Dakota, where he met his future wife of 61 years, Janice Cleven. Their meeting began a lifelong partnership as they started their life in Minneapolis, MN.  Gary began work at IDS as a computer systems programmer.  During that time he also served in the Army Reserves. They continued to live there until they moved back to Landa, North Dakota, in 1975, to take over the Cleven family farm.  He retired from farming and lived at Lake Metigoshe, ND, and eventually moved to Durham, NC.

He is survived by his wife Janice of Durham, NC; daughter Anne and her husband Brent Moum of Bottineau, ND; son Scott and wife Lisa Wysocki of Sanford, NC; son Brett Wysocki of Grand Forks, ND; four grandchildren, Brody and his wife Shelby Moum, Kutter and his wife Breanna Moum, Evan Wysocki, and Morgan Wysocki; brothers, Carl Wysocki and wife Judy of Colorado, Gene and wife Beth Wysocki of Georgia; Sister, Lois Holt of Nevada and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Lyle Wysocki and Paul Wysocki; niece Stephanie Wysocki Ross and nephew Mark Wysocki.

Gary's legacy lives on in the hearts of people he met along his journey.  He will be honored with a memorial service on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at 10:00 am at the St. Mark's Catholic Church in Bottineau.in Bottineau, ND.  Burial will be at the Saint Mark's Catholic Cemetery.
