Gary Mattson's Obituary
Gary Blaine Mattson, was born on July 10, 1947 in Rolette, ND to George and Eleanor (Tweten) Mattson. He died on October 31, 2018 at the Heart of America Medical Center in Rugby, ND at the age of 71. He graduated from Rolette Public School. Gary met his wife Sandy in 1970 and they were married on March 25, 1971. They resided on the family farm south of Rolette where they raised 8 children. He enjoyed farming, fishing, hunting, wood working and any work that needed to be done around the farm. He also loved watching westerns especially John Wayne movies. Gary had 13 grandchildren that he enjoyed spending time with.
He is survived by his children, Clifton Mattson (Alicia) of Rolette, Rhonda Kittleson of Bottineau, Heath Mattson (Andrea) of Rolette, Andrea Medlang (Beau) of Bottineau, Dusty Mattson (Samantha) of Bismarck, Kimberly Longie of Bottineau, Cody Mattson (Kali) of Bismarck, Casey Mattson of Rolette. Grandchildren, Austin Kittleson, Chelsie Mattson, Tessa Mattson, Bailey Mattson, Bradley Medlang, Danica Medlang, Blake Mattson, Jacob Mattson, Morgan Longie, Easton Medlang, Lucas Mattson, Malia Mattson, and Brayan Mattson. Brother, Randy Mattson (Coline) of Rugby. Sisters, Janice Fossum (Johnnie) of Rolette, Cheryl Foss (Bruce) of Rolette, and Suzy Hiatt (Rod) of Bottineau. Many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents George and Eleanor Mattson, wife Sandra Mattson, grandchild Christopher Medlang.
Memorial Service will be held Saturday, November 10 th at 10:00 am at the Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Rolette. Pastor Rob Roise, officiate.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm on Friday, November 9
th
with prayer service at 7:00 pm at the Ebenezer Lutheran Church.
