Garland "Buck" Beckman, age 86 of Bottineau, passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2026 at a Rolla Hospital. There will be no service, but Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 30, 2026 from 10:00 am until noon at the Nero Funeral in Bottineau.

Garland Beckman, a son of Henry and Leona (Mastvelton) Beckman, was born on June 29, 1940 in Bottineau. He was raised on a farm near Bottineau and attended school in Bottineau. He graduated from Bottineau High School in 1958. Buck married Linda Pilliud in 1959. Together they had a daughter, Linda. This marriage later ended. Buck worked for Homestake Mining in Lead, SD for a few years before returning to Bottineau to work on the family farm. In 1971, Buck Married Sharon Landsverk. This marriage later ended. In addition to farming, Buck worked for Cardinal Drilling and also operated Buck’s Drywall.

Buck was a member of the Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Bottineau. Buck enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping and snowmobiling. He also enjoyed wood working, especially working with diamond willow.

Buck is survived by his daughter, Linda Lodman of Great Falls, MT; grandchildren, Nancy (Darrell) Hejde of Lake Havasu, Charlie Griebel of Great Falls and Chris Lodman of Helena; sister, Judy Beckman of Bottineau; brother, Alvis (Diann) Beckman of Bottineau; sister-in-law, Shirley Beckman of Bottineau and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Beckman; sister, Janice Beckman and niece, Julie Forschen.
