Francis Ray Cree, age 47 of Dunseith, died Saturday, February 22, 2020 at his home near Dunseith.  His funeral will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2020 at 10:00 am the Eagle Heart Cultural Center in Dunseith.

Francis Ray Cree, a son of Debra J. Cree, was born on November 15, 1972 at Rolette.  He grew up in Dunseith and attended Dunseith Day School and later Dunseith High School.  He continued on to Anaconda Job Corps in Anaconda, MT.  He then worked various construction jobs.

Francis was a believer in his traditional ways.   He enjoyed Sundancing, singing traditional songs that he had learned from his grandfather and going to sweat lodges and pow-wows.

He is survived by his mother Debra Cree of Dunseith, sister, Kandy Deschamp of Dunseith; adopted brother, Vernon Cree and adopted sister, Balessa Davis of Dunseith.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Francis and Rose Cree.
