Francis Belgarde age 39 of Dunseith, passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at a Fargo hospital.  Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at noon at the St. Michael's Catholic Church in Dunseith.  His wake will begin at 8:00 am with a rosary at 10:00 am at the church.  Burial will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.

Francis was born on July 17, 1986, in Minot, ND, to Francis "Sugar" Belgarde Sr. and Sherry Belgarde (Smith). He was raised in Rolette County and later earned his GED through Job Corps in Minot. Throughout his life, he worked in concrete, construction, masonry, and spent many years employed at the horse track.

Francis was known for his vibrant spirit and love of life. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing at the casino, rolling dice, horse racing, and cruising in his S10 pickup while jamming to his favorite tunes. He never went without his favorite snacks and brought laughter and light wherever he went.

He lives on in the hearts of his children, family, and many dear friends. Francis was a kind and friendly soul who will be deeply missed by all who knew him

He is survived by his mother Sherry Belgarde, his daughters Zylee Belgarde and Zaydee Belgarde, and his sister Anita (Clarence) St. Claire, all of Dunseith, ND. He also leaves behind many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father Francis "Sugar" Belgarde Sr., his paternal grandparents John and Ruth Belgarde, and his sister Ruth Belgarde.

The family extends heartfelt thanks for the outpouring of sympathy and support during this difficult time. All are welcome to join for fellowship and a meal following the service at the Eagle Heart Log Building.
