Evon Lagerquist, age 65 of Dunseith, passed away on Monday, November 11, 2024 at her home.  Her memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at 10:00 am at the Peace Lutheran church in Dunseith.  Burial will be at the Ackworth Cemetery.

Evon Lagerquist, a daughter of John and Leola (Hiatt) Lagerquist, was born on February 16, 1959 at Rolette.  She was the 7th out of 10 children.  She grew up on the family farm in the Turtle Mountains, north of Dunseith.  She graduated from Dunseith High School in 1977.

As a young girl she was a member of the Mountaineers 4-H Club.  She worked at several places over the years mostly in restaurants and food service.  She enjoyed learning to bake homemade bread and other goodies from her mom.  She also learned how to make homemade jellies and jams from the berries that they would pick through the summer.  She always had a big vegetable garden with lots of vegetables to process in the fall of the year.

She was the proud mother of Eric Lagerquist, she called him her greatest accomplishment in life.

She is survived by her son, Eric Lagerquist (Jessica) of Dunseith; grandchildren, Wyatt and Remi; brothers, Rodney, Lyle, Kurt, Carl (Tara) all of Dunseith, Ray (Lori) of Boulder, MT, Dale (Marlene) of Bottineau, and Bruce of Manhattan, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her partner, Raphael Lee Poitra; infant sister, Gail Sue; brother, Kim Allen; and nephew, Trey Michael.
