Evelyn Solper Hanson, 90 died

Evelyn was born October 28, 1927 at Souris to Henry Sr. and Emma (Kovarik) Solper. The Solper family moved to the Turtle Mountains northeast of Bottineau in 1932. Evelyn attended country school and graduated from Bottineau High School. On December 3,

1947 she was married to Arland Hanson at Souris, ND. They Honeymooned in California and attended the Rose Parade at Pasadena. They made their home on the Hanson family farm northwest of Bottineau where they operated a dairy farm and later a farm/ranch operation. Evelyn helped with the farming and cattle, and continued raising cattle for several years after Arland passed away in 1991. She worked for the Bottineau Public School District from 1957 until her retirement in 2008, driving school bus and later working as a teacher aid in the school office. The Hanson family managed the Bottineau Community Arena for approximately 10 years. Evelyn later moved into Bottineau.
Evelyn was a
charter member of the Bottineau Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, holding many offices including President and District President for several years.
She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and United Parish Church.
She is survived by daughters Janice (Wayne) Stavang, Snelling, CA; Marie Norstegaard and Allen Bailey, Taylor, TX; Naomi (Tom) Carlton, Wilkinson, IN; sons Gordon (Linda) Hanson, St Paul, NE; and Duane Hanson, Yankton, SD; Eleven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Arland, daughter Arlys Larson, son Michael Hanson, two brothers Everett and Henry "Bud" Solper.
