Eugene Poitra left this world surrounded by his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, whose kindness and strength touched the lives of all who knew him.

He was born on December 1, 1939, to his loving parents, Isaac Poitra, and Martha (Smith) Poitra. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, his four brothers, four sisters, his dear daughter, Lisa (Poitra) Decoteau, and granddaughter Christina Poitra.

On April 25, 1960, he married the love of his life, Dorothy Allery, with whom he built a beautiful life and family. He joined the Marine Corps and retired from the Iron Worker's Local #793.

Dorothy shares this heartfelt message:

"I miss and love you. I love the family we built, and I will cherish all the years we had together."

He is survived by his sons Eugene Jr., and Duane Poitra (Cheryl (Cree) Poitra), and daughters Vickie Poitra (Minot) and Brenda Poitra-Cree (Minot). His legacy continues through his 17 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, who will always hold his memory close to their hearts.

Eugene was a man of deep love, unwavering dedication, and quiet strength. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.

A wake will be held at the Eagle Heart Community Center on February 20 at 3:00 p.m., with funeral service to be held February 21, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate his remarkable life.

Though he is no longer with us in body, his love and guidance will remain forever. Rest in peace, our beloved Snowflakes.
