Obituary

Erma Spafford, age 75 of Antler, died Saturday at a Minot hospital.  Her funeral will be Friday at 2:00 pm at the Bethel Lutheran Church near Antler.  Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Nero Funeral Home in Westhope.  Burial will be at the Antler Community Cemetery.

Erma Spafford, a daughter of Harry and June (Weston) Smith, was born on November 13, 1942 at Antler.  She was raised there and attended school in Antler.  On September 20, 1964, she married the love of her life, Ralph Spafford at Mohall.  They made their home on a farm near Maxbass where they lived and farmed.  In 1989, they retired from farming and moved to Antler.  They moved to Minot in 2005.  Ralph passed away on June 28, 2007 and soon after, Erma moved back to Antler.

She was a member of the Antler Community Church and the Rebekah Lodge.  She enjoyed traveling, especially to Phoenix, AZ.  She enjoyed gardening, crafting and music.

She is survived by  her daughters, Sheila and her husband, Mike Porreca of Lansford, and Debra Spafford of Minot, ND; 1 grandchild, Christina Porreca of Minot; sister, Bonnie Arneson of Mohall and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Faye Evans and Myra Arneson.

Arrangements were with Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau.  Friends may sign the online register book at www.nerofuneralhome.net.
