Elaine Kathleen Kitzman Glinz was born November 4, 1932, to Alfred and Anna (Wahl) Kitzman on the family farm in Little Deep Township in McHenry County.

Elaine was baptized and confirmed at Bloomfield Church in Upham (now New Hope Church). She went to Country School through the 7th grade, then graduated from the 8th grade in Deering. She went to high school in Upham and graduated from Upham High School in 1950. Elaine enjoyed playing basketball for the Upham Orioles with her friend Elaine (Pfau) Brandt. They even made it to the state tournament!

In 1950, Elaine married Willis Glinz at St. John's Church east of Russell. Pastor Lueker officiated their joyous day. Three daughters were born to the couple – Sandra (Kenny) Moen of Bottineau, Pam (Steve) Kersten of Minot, and Shelley (Dean) Blada of Newburg.

Elaine was welcoming and generous to everyone she met. In her earlier years, Elaine served on various clubs and boards. Elaine and Willis loved to travel – they enjoyed winters in Mesa, AZ, for quite some time, but also liked traveling to new places. Through the years, they always farmed; Elaine supported the family farm and always had delicious meals ready for Willis.

They farmed until 1998, at which time they moved into Newburg. After Willis' passing, Elaine moved to Bottineau in 2002. In January 2003, she moved into her new home in Bottineau, where she resided until 2021. After suffering a stroke, she moved to the Wellington in Minot where she has lived the past three years.

Elaine loved the Christmas season. She loved to shop for family and friends and spread joy through gift giving. She loved hosting her family at Christmas and gathering everyone together. Elaine was the most gracious host and opened her home to friends and family, near and far. She always had coffee and cookies ready for any visitors, which were many, and insisted her guests stay for a meal. Throughout her time in Bottineau, Elaine enjoyed traveling with her lady friends to the casino – she played many games of penny slots.

Elaine's favorite saying is, "By the grace of God, go I". Elaine had a big heart. She showed kindness and love to anyone she met and will be deeply missed.

Elaine has seven grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She was a loyal follower of her grandchildren's and great grandchildren's activities and supported them throughout their school years.

Elaine is survived by two daughters and their husbands, her brother, Harvey Kitzman, six grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; plus many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Willis; her sister, Ethel; four brothers, seven brothers-in-law; nine sisters-in-law; her daughter, Sandra Moen (in 2014); and her grandson, Tyler Moen (in 2022).
