Elaine Aasheim, age 87 of Bottineau, passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 in Minot.  Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at 10:00 am at the First Lutheran Church in Bottineau.  Visitation will be Tuesday from 1:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau.  Burial will be at the Oak Creek Cemetery in Bottineau.

Elaine Aasheim, a daughter of Alvin and Lenora (Nickel) Monson, was born on January 7, 1937 in Bottineau.  She was raised in Bottineau and attended Bottineau Public School.  Following the completion of her education, Elaine worked as a waitress in Westhope and in Minot.  On August 16, 1959, she married LeRoi Stadheim.  This marriage later ended.  Elaine worked as a CNA at the St. Andrew's Hospital and the Bottineau Good Samaritan Center.  She later worked as a clerk at the Ben Franklin and later Pamida.  On July 24, 1982, she married James Aasheim.  James passed away on December 22, 2015.

Elaine was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Bottineau.  She was a member of the Eagle's Club where she was a past president.  She also was a member of the Sons of Norway and the VFW Auxiliary. Over the years, Elaine made of 250 sweaters for needy children.

She is survived by her sons, Kevin (Ruth) Stadheim of Elizabeth, PA and Brad (Valerie) Stadheim of Minot; 6 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers, Dennis (Nina) Monson, Glen (Margie) Monson and Marvin (Sharon) Monson; sister, Sharon (Charles) Carbonneau and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, James, she was preceded in death by one sister, Jeanie Seemann.
