Edward Allen Berg was born the fifth child on August 12th, 1939 to Albert and Alma (Pederson) Berg. He grew up in the Turtle Mountains and attended country school. After school, Edward went on to work with local farmers and at the age 17, joined the construction crew Tang & Koland. In 1961, he enlisted in the ND National Guard and was called up for active duty during the Berlin Crisis leaving his love, Judy (Halvorson) of Landa behind. They were married in 1964 and made their home in the Turtle Mountains for 48 years. Along with having his own farm and cattle, he worked for Olson Farms for 20 years. On the farm they raised 5 children. Edward went on to work for Berg Construction and continued to run his own cattle operation. By 2015, he decided to finally retire and move to Bottineau, but that didn't stop him from being active as he enjoyed many things, such as cards at the senior center where he formed many friendships, dancing and his favorite hobby, stripping copper. Edward was proud he was able to stay as active as he was. He and Judy took on a part time cleaning job at Drive Chevrolet for 9 years working alongside each other.

Ed was very humble and enjoyed the simple things in life. His only wish was that his loved ones were happy. He enjoyed watching his kids and grandkids in anything they did, watching a good western, and Judy's home cooking.

Edward is survived by his wife of 60 years, Judy; daughters; Becky (Jeff) Pollman, JoAnn McCloud, Julie (Dan) Longie, Amy (Eddie) Hanson; Grandkids; Brandon (Laura) Halvorson, Kory Halvorson, Jerrod, Justin, and Jaden McCloud, Amanda, Cody and Brady Longie, Jaclyn Hanson; Great Grandchildren; Jasper and Arlo Halvorson, Samuel Walden.
