Dwight Kay Mickelson, age 75 of Souris passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2025 at his home near Souris surrounded by his friends and brother, Steve.  Burial will be on Monday, September 15, 2025 at 2:00 pm at the Mountain View Cemetery near Souris.

Dwight Mickelson, a son of Neil and Lois (Potter) Mickelson, was born on November 25, 1949 in Bottineau.  He was raised near Souris and graduated from Souris High School in 1967.  Through the years, Dwight worked as a farmhand for Bob Patterson, Wilbur Patterson, Bud Juve and Jim Artz.  He also worked as a land surveyor for 12 years and travel to the Seattle to work as a carpenter for several winters.

Dwight was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Souris.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He also played basketball and baseball in high School.

He is survived by his son, Sheridan Kay (Jessica) Mickelson; grandchildren, Sophia Lois and Isaac Daniel; sister, Roxanne (Rod) Henning; brothers, Kelly (Mika) Mickelson and Steve Patterson; brother-in-law, John Henning and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ronica Henning and brother, Mitch Patterson.
