Obituary

Dorothy Smith, age 84 of Bottineau, died Tuesday at a Dickinson, ND hospital.  Her funeral will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 am at the Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau.  Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm at the funeral home.
Dorothy Mae Smith, a daughter of Manual and Helen (Longie) Clark, was born on April 8, 1934 in Walhalla, ND.  She was raised and educated there.  On April 3, 1954, she married Shelby Smith in Ellendale, ND.  They in Edgeley, ND before moving to Bottineau in 1969.  Dorothy worked at the St. Andrew's Hospital and the Bottineau Courant.  Shelby passed away on March 10, 2008.
She loved music and playing her guitar.  She loved being with her family and friends.

She is survived by her sons, Steven Smith and his wife, Tammy of Dickinson, ND and Shelby Smith of Clearfield, UT; daughter, Jeanne Smith of Bottineau; 6 grandchildren Alysia, Steve Jr, Alyson (Jeremy), Brent (Jen), Alyssa and Kendahl all of Dickinson; 4 great grandchildren; Kenadee, Alyvia, Alayna and Hayes; sisters, Mary Peterson, Vion Peterson, Stella Styles, Barbara Clark and Gladys Solbakken; brother, Jerry Clark and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death one sister, Alice; 3 brothers, Allan, Tom and Robert and 1 great grandson, Jhett.
Arrangements were with Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau.  Friends may sign the online register book at www.nerofuneralhome.net.
