Obituary

Doris Marlene Belgarde Dubois, age 54 of Dunseith, passed away on Friday, December 31, 2021 at a Belcourt hospital.  Her funeral will be held on Thursday at 11:00 am at the Eagle Heart Cultural Center in Dunseith.  Her wake will be held on Wednesday starting at 4:00 pm at the center.

Doris a daughter of Roy J. and Margaret (St. Claire) Belgarde was born on January 7, 1967 in Belcourt.  She attended the Dunseith Day School and later Dunseith High School.  On December 28, 1993, she married the love of her life, Verlin Dubois.  Verlin passed away on January 21, 2021.  Doris worked as a CNA at the Dunseith Nursing Home from 1995 until 2008.

She loved to cook and bake for her family.  She enjoyed going to the casino, spending time with her kids, grandkids and family.  She loved all her nieces and nephews unconditionally.  She loved to be outside doing outside work.  She began riding horse at the age of 2.  She enjoyed cleaning and taking care of the family cemetery. She had a special song that she sang for each niece and nephew and that was a lot of songs.  She helped raise 4 of her grandchildren, Kaylee, Baby Evan, Braylee and Mikey.

She is survived by her sons, Derek Belgarde Evan Dubois; daughter, Sheyanne Dubois; stepdaughters, Rhonda Dubois, Jenny Dubois, Amy Dubois; 17 grandchildren, Kaylee, Ayasha, Ayvah, Justice, Jocelyn, Xavier, Malachi, Michael, Evan, Braylie, Rylynn, Savon, Tehya, Kobey, Mila, Adam and Anna; siblings, Betti Jean (Lawrence) Azure, Curtis Belgarde, David (Peggy) Belgrade, Cathy Thiefoe, Gary Michael Belgarde; sister-in-law, Velda Belgarde; godsons, Larry Beston Jr, and Brayden Belgarde; uncles, Leslie, Lyle, Alvin and Darwin Belgarde; aunts, Ronette Morin, Norma Belgarde and Rose Mary Bruce and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by grandparents, Elsina Belgarde, Frank and Rose Belgarde and Robert and Alice Norquay; sisters, Beverly Parisien, Sharon Cree, Roxanne Thiefoe; brothers, Leroy Belgarde, Larry Belgarde, Gary Belgarde and Ronald Belgarde, Sr; brothers-in-law, James Parisien, Melvin Cree; nieces, Tanya Thiefoe, Britta Jean Short and Alicia Beston; nephews, Jeff Larocque and Jawon Christopher and great-great nephew, Langston Beston.

She ill be greatly missed by all family and friends.  The family would like to thank everyone who shared their love with Pebbles and showed us love and support during this difficult time.

Arrangements were with Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau.
