Donna H. Nelson, age 61 of Bottineau, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2026 at a Minot hospital.

Donna Holly Nelson was born April 10th, 1964 to Eileen(Eurich) & Harvey Nelson in Kalispell MT.

She was the 3rd of 5 children. The family home was in rural Dunseith where she attended Dunseith Public School until her graduation in May of 1982. Donna was a hard worker and spent many years as a CNA. She then went on to work for Cobblestone and lastly she was a cashier at Walmart.

On May 28th 1986 she welcomed her first-born daughter Julie Kae Nelson. It was a delight for Donna. Then later on February 2nd of 1993 she had her little groundhog, Jennifer Nicole Kuntz. She was supposed to be a Valentine but instead was stubborn like her Mom.
During life's happenings she lived in Rugby for a while before moving back to Bottineau to be closer to family.

She is survived by her daughters, Julie Nelson of Bottineau & Jennifer Kuntz of Rugby. Her mother Eileen, Bottineau, Brother Duane (KIM), Mandan Sister Diane Nelson-Roland(Gerald), Garrison and sister Debbie (Rocky)Mundt Bottineau.  Plus a bonus sister Robin Hagen
She is also survived by her niece & god-daughter Jessica Nelson, nieces Michelle Harland & Haley Stautz, nephew Kyle Nelson along with several great nieces and nephews

Donna was proceeded in death by her father Harvey and brother David.

Donna will be greatly missed by all who loved her. She loved to crochet and gifted several handmade blankets. She also made awesome sour cream raisin bars and fudge. She was also known for her love of owls.

A celebration of life will be held at the Cobblestone Inn on Saturday April 11th at 2 PM in the Nelson Room.
