Funeral services were held for Donna (Moffit) Houle, 72 of Dunseith on Thursday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Belcourt with Father Michael Slovak S.O.L.T officiating. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery in Dunseith. She died Saturday, September 22, 2018 at a Belcourt Hospital. Pallbearers were Clay Houle, Gary Burcham, Terry Manson Jr., James Burcham, Willard Burcham, and Dillon Hauser. Honorary Pallbearers were Tionna Houle, Justin Houle, Kami Houle, Alexis Burcham, Kaydence Burcham, Willard Burcham Jr. Chase Vivier, Klea Gillis, Zion Houle, Jewels Houle, Isabelle Peltier, Carey Peltier, Chelsie Burcham, Cameron Eller, Ronald Wilson, and James Burcham.
Donna Lucille was born January 12, 1946 in Bismarck, ND, a daughter to George W. Moffit and Margaret (Glum) Moffit. She attended school in Moffit, ND until 8
th
grade then graduated from Hazelton High School in 1965. On May 24, 1967 she married Raymond Roy Houle in Mandan, ND. She enjoyed listening to music, watching westerns, word finds, reading, playing cards, and baking. Donna loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, family and friends. She enjoyed playing "score" on her trips to Minot. (Her and Tionna always won no matter what.) Donna enjoyed going to the lake and family gatherings.
Survivors are two sons George and Ryan Houle of Dunseith, ND, two daughters Candace(Willard) Houle and Leah Houle of Dunseith, ND. Seven grandchildren, Tionna Houle, Kami Houle, Willard Burcham Jr, Alexis Burcham, Kaydence Burcham, all of Dunseith, ND, Justin Houle of Bismarck, ND and Clay (Klea) Houle of Belcourt, ND, three great grandchildren Chase Vivier of Belcourt, ND, Jewels Houle of Mandan, ND and Zion Houle of Dunseith, ND. Her siblings Nancy Moffit, Raymond Moffit, and Rose Olhauser of Bismarck, ND, Ronnie(Linda)Moffit of Lincoln, ND, Irene Reather of Portland, OR, Shirley Lave of Billings, MT, Jean(Dick) Austad of Fairfield, MT, Betty Grage of Hawarden , IA and Marcella Moffit of Rolla, ND and a foster daughter they raised Gailain Belgarde. Donna and Raymond claimed Gailain's children, Farrah Gooden, and her children as their grandchildren. Also surviving are her god parents and a number of nieces and nephews.
Donna was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Roy Houle, her parents George and Margaret Moffit, siblings, Douglas Moffit, Lee Moffit, Jackie Dewald, Susan Manson, Gladys Engebretson, nieces Tina Manson and Lisa Dewald, cousin Dorothy Christianson, her grandparents and many aunts and uncles.
