Darrell Teske, age 91, Bottineau, ND, passed away on Friday, March 7 2025, at a Bottineau hospital, after a long battle with Alzheimer's, although in the end, it was his heart that gave out. His funeral will be held on Friday, March 14, 2025 at 10:00 am at the Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau. Visitation will begin one-hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Nidaros Cemetery near Landa. Casket bearers are Nathan Raes, Joshua Raes, Taylor Teske, and Brody Myers. Darrell Gerald Teske was born January 4th 1934 at St. Andrews in Bottineau, the son of Max and Anna (Eman) Teske. He was baptized on March 9th, 1934 at the Kramer parsonage by Reverend Albert Rubbert with Rose and Fred Kuebler as sponsors. He was confirmed April 4th 1948 at Zion Lutheran Church at Kramer. He was raised on the family farm between Kramer and Newburg where they did things like milked cows, churned their own butter, and put up hay.
Darrell was united in marriage to Marjorie Byre on July 1st 1961, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Bottineau. Soon after marriage, they relocated to Ft. Lewis, Washington while Darrell served in the Army National Guard. After returning, they made their home on farms near Kramer and finally near Souris. Darrell was particularly proud of their Rocking D Ranch, specializing in Black Angus cattle. They have two children, David and Nancy.
Darrell will be remembered for his ready smile and joking nature.
Darrell was preceded in death by his beloved wife Marj of 62 years, his parents, and in-laws Gale and Phoebe Teske, Harvey and Mitzi Teske, and nephew Darin Teske.
Darrell is survived by his son David (Karen) Teske of Westhope and daughter Nancy (Marvin Stevens) Teske of Brooks, Alberta, Canada; Grandchildren Nathanial (Cierra) Teske, Sarah (Lipetzky) Gildea, Joshua (Erika) Raes, Sierra (Nick) Toews, Taylor (Kayla) Teske, Jade (Brody) Myers, and ten great grandchildren; sister-in-law Yvonne Moos, Grand Forks; brothers-in-law Alvin Byre, Roseau, MN; Wayne (Claudia) Byre, Walford, IA. niece, Judy Teske and nephew Brad Teske.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers and plants the family request donations be given to The Good Samaritan Society.
Arrangements were with Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau. Friends may sign the online register at www.nerofuenralhome.net.
