Darlene Hanson, age 82 of Bottineau, passed away on Friday, April 18, 2025, at a Bottineau hospital.  Her funeral will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025, at 2:00 pm at the Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau.  Visitation will also be on Friday from 11:00 am until service time at the funeral home.  Lunch will be held at the First Lutheran Church following the service.

Darlene Hanson, a daughter of Engebrigt and Margaret (Lund) Hanson, was born on September 12, 1942, at Bottineau. She grew up in Bottineau and attended Bottineau Public School.  Over the years, she worked at St. Andrew's Hospital, Tommy's Café and the Norway House.

Darlene enjoyed knitting, crocheting and embroidery, making pillows cases and blankets for everyone.  Darlene cared for everyone that came into her home, making sure all the children got a cookie.  She made the best cookies, fudge and unique crafts for everyone.  She loved her cats.

She is survived her siblings, Barbara (Mike) Knoke, Marvin Hanson, Leroy Hanson, Eugene (Betty) Hanson; and many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Debra Hanson; nephews, Matthew and Marshall Knoke and Danny Hanson; and friend Ron Carlson.

The family would like to thank the St. Andrew's Hospital for the great care provided to Darlene at the end of her life.
