Darcie Rae Boltz, age 50 of Bottineau, passed away unexpectedly in her home on January 8, 2024. Services for Darcie will be held this spring in Scottsdale, Arizona and Lake Metigoshe.

Born in Scottsdale on November 8, 1973, Darcie was the daughter of Joan Boltz and Jim Holwell. While she was born and raised in Scottsdale, she spent many summers in Bottineau with her grandparents Hazel and Howard Boltz, and Dolores and James Holwell. She always considered herself a North Dakota girl, so it was no surprise when she eventually left Arizona to make North Dakota her year-round home.

A licensed aesthetician for 25 years, Darcie's passion was caring for others and helping her clients feel and look their best. She spent 10 years as the retail and aesthetician manager at the Gainey Village Health Club & Spa in Scottsdale before setting up shop in Minot and then eventually Bottineau.

Her passions included creating unique gifts for family and friends and spending time on Lake Metigoshe. Our little turquoise slice of heaven (a.k.a.The Boltz Cabin) won't feel nearly as festive without her laughter and infectious spirit.

She is survived by her mother, Joan Boltz of Bottineau, her cousins Stacey Boltz (Andy) of Vail, Colorado and Cassie Boltz of Scottsdale, Arizona, her sister Katy Moore (Dustin) of Fargo and a collection of nieces and nephews who adored her. She was preceded in death by her father Jim Holwell.
