Daniel Noble, age 74 of Minot and Dunseith, passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at his home in Minot.

Born on November 17, 1951, in Cando, North Dakota, to David and Arlene Noble, he grew up alongside his sister, Rondel, and his brother, Jess. After graduating from high school, he moved to Minot. He met Virginia at Trinity School of Nursing, where they were both students.

Dan and Virginia were married in 1971 and celebrated 54 years of marriage this past December. They have three children - Kristi, Erin, and Dustin and six grandchildren – Makenzi, Jayce, Chance, Londyn, Hollynd, and Briar.

In 1975, Dan and Virginia moved to Ross. Dan began working at (Amerada) Hess, where he retired in 2010 after 37 years. For over 30 years, Dan and Virg lived & raised their family in Ross. He genuinely enjoyed his work and was grateful for the many lifelong friendships he formed along the way. They were members of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and active in the Stanley community, where their kids attended school. Dan was a loud and loyal cheerleader for Kristi, Erin, and Dustin’s sports & activities; he remained an enthusiastic fan at his grandchildren’s events also.

When they retired, they were blessed to find a piece of paradise in the Turtle Mountains. They spent many tireless hours turning the acres of trees and rolling hills into a retreat that the family loved coming to. He found great joy in taking everyone on side-by-side rides through the many trails. This special place became lovingly known as “The Cabin”.

Dan always looked forward to Fall as this meant hunting season was near! The annual tradition of making deer sausage was one of Dan’s most anticipated weekends second only to Christmas. He also enjoyed fishing, working in his yard, creating and completing home projects with Dustin, and watching Ultimate Fights with his grandsons.

Daniel is survived by his wife Virginia, his two daughters: Kristi (Paul) Johnson, Erin (Ben) Lauf, and their six grandchildren: Makenzi, Jayce, and Chance Johnson; Londyn, Hollynd, and Briar Lauf; his sister, Rondel (Ron) Robinson, and his brother, Jess (Sue) Noble, stepsisters, Judy Ziegler and Joanne (Jerry) Bergin. He is also survived by his brothers-in-law, Bob (Virginia) Holland, Lew Holland, Jim (Patsy) Holland, and sisters-in-law, MerriJo Hendrickson and Marlene Larson. He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Dustin, affectionately known to him as “Bud”.

A celebration of Dan’s life will be held on August 12th, 2026, at 11:00 am at First Lutheran Church in Bottineau. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to HIA Hospice, attn: Philanthropy, 3800 56th Ave S, Fargo, ND 58104, if desired.
