Cindy Kirk passed away on May 25, 2026, surrounded by her family. Cindy was born in Minot, ND, on July 29, 1947. She married Gail Kirk on July 22, 1965, and they shared 55 years together.

Cindy worked at the Westhope Nursing Home for approximately 22 years. She also spent time helping in the oil field doing roustabouting and painting.

Cindy loved her family and friends with her whole heart. She adored animals of all kinds, but birds held a special place in her heart. She often said that if she could be any animal, she would choose to be a bird.

She enjoyed planting flowers, gardening, baking, and cooking—nobody could make Clube or buns like Cindy. She was hilarious, always ready with a joke or a funny memory to brighten someone’s day.

Cindy is preceded in death by her husband Gail, son Jessie, parents Unice & Albert Ness, mother‑in‑law Helen, sister Pam, brothers David, Curtis, and Kent Ness, and three brothers‑in‑law.

She is survived by her two daughters: Janelle Kirk (Laurie) and Jodi Nehring (Pat); her four grandchildren: Derek (Jamie), Brett (Melissa), Jennifer (AJ), and Kaleb Nehring; along with many other family members and close friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Westhope Ambulance in Cindy’s honor.

She was loved by many and will be deeply missed.

There will be no funeral services, but a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. It will be vibrant and red‑themed to represent all the joy she brought into the world.
