Colten Olson, age 19 of Bottineau, passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2025 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Upham.  His funeral will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2025 at 2:00 pm at the Dovre Lutheran Church in Newburg.  Visitation will also be on Thursday from 10:00 am until noon at the Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau.

Colten John Olson, the son of Scott Olson and Michelle Pruitt, was born on April 19, 2006 at Minot.  He was raised in Bottineau and attended Bottineau Public Schools.  Following his education, Colten began working as an apprentice electrician for Rock's Electric Construction Inc in Grafton, ND and R&D Electric in Westhope.

Colten loved working on his truck, going to truck shows and going mudding.

Colten is survived by his mother, Suzanna Michelle Pruitt; father, Scott Edward Olson; sisters, Makenna and Vitanni Olson; brother, Trexin Olson; grandparents, John E. Olson and Therese Olson; aunts, Tammy (Cory) Hammer and Pamela (Mike) Lynch; great aunts and uncles, Judy (John) Ellington, Carla Brining, Chris (Larry) Johnson, Darlene Olson, Tim Godfrey, JoAnn Stiener and Michael Pruett; and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death grandparents and great-grandparents; Rosie (Gawryluk) Olson, John and Sophie Gawryluk, Clara (Lervik) Olson, George and Jane Olson, Nelson and Christina Singleton, Fred Pruitt Sr and Joseph and Lorraine (Farrell) Pruett; great aunt and uncles, David Olson, Max Gawryluk, Joseph Gawryluk, Sharon Pruett and Patrick Pruett.
