Obituary

Coleen Ella (Gable) Sivertson, age 89, of Bottineau, ND, passed away December 3, 2022 at her home.

Coleen was born November 4, 1933, to Irene and Vern Gable. She grew up in rural Rolette, ND. She graduated from Rolette school in 1951 where she enjoyed cheerleading and was awarded Valedictorian of her class. She was united in marriage to Lloyd Howard Sivertson on October 5, 1951. When Lloyd was drafted into the Marines, they moved to San Diego, California and then eventually to Jacksonville, North Carolina. After Lloyds discharge, they moved to Rolla, North Dakota where they raised their family. Throughout their marriage, they also lived in the communities of Crosby, ND, Warren, MN, and Mohall, ND. Coleen and Lloyd eventually retired in Bottineau, ND. Before retirement, Coleen had various jobs. Her most important roles were that of homemaker and mother.

Coleen loved doing crossword puzzles and playing cards. She enjoyed her many years of bowling in different leagues. She also enjoyed dancing as part of a group that went to various communities. One of Coleen's passions was to give back to her community. She spent many hours of community service volunteering at the hospital auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, and the clothing center. She delivered church bulletins to members who could not attend service, and visited many friends and family at the Good Samaritan.

Family was very important to Coleen. She and Lloyd raised 4 children and helped raise many grandchildren. Her family was greatly influenced by her love of faith and her willingness to find the best in people. They enjoyed her many cooking talents (especially her chantilly hotdish, lemon meringue pie, her chocolate pudding cake, and strawberry rhubarb sauce).

Coleen is survived by her loving children, Sherilyn Flatt of Wilsonville, OR, Kevin Sivertson of Rolla, ND, Karen Huper (Mylan White) of Joice, IA, and Ross Sivertson (Jane) of St. John, ND, many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Coleen was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband; grandson: Cory Huper; son-in-law: Dan Huper: siblings: Lenore Foss, Donna Cote, Jeannine Westby, and many brother and sister in-laws.
