Obituary

Christina Mae Morin, age 39, of Dunseith, passed away surrounded by the love of her family and community. All are invited to gather at the Eagle Heart Lodge for a meal and time of remembrance on Friday, November 21, 2025 at 11:00 am.  She will be laid to rest at the St. Louis Catholic Cemetery, next to her family.

Christina was born on December 19th, 1985, in Minot, ND, to Mark and Sandra Morin. She grew up in Dunseith, where she later built a beautiful life with her partner, Jason Beaver. Together they raised their two daughters, Cassadee Houle and Hannah Beaver, who were the absolute center of her world. Christina loved being a mother—every memory, every adventure, every quiet moment was filled with a deep, unwavering love for her girls and for the life she and Jason created. Their days were full of camping trips, fishing, pontooning, side by side rides, and laughter—exactly the kind of life she had always dreamed of.

Christina was deeply committed to her work as a Public Health Nurse for Indian Health Services, caring for her community with compassion, pride, and gentle strength. Christina was recognized in 2023 with the IHS Directors Award for her heroism with the pandemic response team. She poured her heart into her work and found meaning in every person she cared for.

Christina held a special love for her sister, Alisha, who shared her passion for nursing. Together they created countless memories—laughing, supporting one another, and singing karaoke whenever they had the chance. She also treasured her close relationship with her mother, Sandra. The two were known for their laughter, their dancing, and the easy joy they brought out in one another. Their bond was one of Christina's greatest sources of strength and happiness.

Anyone who knew Christina knew her contagious laugh—a laugh that could fill a room and lift the heaviest heart. She loved being surrounded by friends, sharing stories, dancing, or singing her favorite songs at Dale's. She had a way of making every moment feel alive, bringing joy and warmth wherever she went.

Christina is survived by her companion, Jason Beaver; her children, Cassadee and Hannah; her mother, Sandra (Baker) Morin; her sister, Alisha (Derrick) Honsey; and her beloved nieces and nephews: Janisha, Alexander, Heidey, Olivia, Maleah, Chandler, Westen, Savannah, and Annessa. She also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.

She was preceded in death by her father, Mark Morin; her brother, Wesley Morin; her sister, Cassandra Morin; her grandparents, Alfred and Joann Baker; her grandmother, Germaine Davis; and her grandfather, Eugene Morin.
